About the Episode:

Today, we’re diving into some fantastic strategies that will help you create a magnetic marketing approach on LinkedIn. You know, the kind that not only helps you stand out but also draws the right audience and lets you build authentic connections without resorting to any of those spammy tactics. So, let’s get right into it.

Optimizing Your LinkedIn Profile for Attraction

Let’s start by talking about the heart of your LinkedIn presence: your profile. Trust me, having a profile that resonates and draws people in is an absolute game-changer. Here are some golden nuggets from my insights:

  • Headline Optimization: You’ve got to make that headline pop. It’s not just about your job title, it’s about letting people know who you help and the value you bring. A compelling headline is like a magnet for your ideal audience.
  • About Section: Now, this is where you let your personality shine. Talk from the heart, share your journey, and showcase your expertise in the first person. And don’t hold back – utilize every character to show your unique value and connect on a real level.
  • First Experience Section: Your current role is your chance to shine. Explain what you do, your responsibilities, and how you make a difference in serving others.

Remember, sprinkling relevant keywords throughout your profile boosts your visibility in searches. By optimizing your profile, you set the stage for a magnetic energy that naturally draws your target audience in.

Expanding Your LinkedIn Presence

Let’s take this to the next level with some strategic moves to enhance your LinkedIn presence and engagement:

  • LinkedIn Company Page: Now, you don’t want to miss out on this one. Create a solid company page that showcases your business, mission, and, of course, those keywords. Your company page isn’t just about boosting credibility; it’s a hub for attracting potential clients.
  • Showcase Pages: These are like your business’s spotlight. While they’re great for specific services, remember that each page requires upkeep. So, choose wisely based on your capacity to manage them effectively.
  • LinkedIn Newsletter: If you’re not using LinkedIn’s Pulse network, you’re missing out. Regularly publishing a LinkedIn newsletter helps establish your authority and sparks greater engagement.

And here’s a little extra for you: my “She’s Linked Up” program. It’s designed to empower women like you with powerful LinkedIn strategies that attract high-ticket opportunities. If you’re ready to build meaningful relationships and fill your calendar with qualified leads, this program’s got your back.

Craft Your Magnetic LinkedIn Presence

Take my insights to heart, and you’ll be well on your way to crafting a magnetic LinkedIn presence. By optimizing your profile, crafting a robust company page, and consistently sharing valuable content, you’ll transform your LinkedIn engagement into something truly extraordinary. Build connections that matter, attract valuable opportunities, and do it all in a way that aligns with your unique strengths and preferences.

Conclusion: Magnetize Your LinkedIn Strategy

From LinkedIn newbies to those looking to revamp their approach, these strategies are here to help you build a magnetic LinkedIn presence. With my guidance, you can forge genuine connections, boost your visibility, and grow a thriving professional network that opens doors to exciting opportunities. So, it’s time to embrace these tactics and watch your LinkedIn journey take off.

Karen Yankovich 0:23
Hello, there. I’m your host, Karen Yankovich. And I talk a lot on this show about creating a magnetic marketing strategy on LinkedIn right standing out from all of the people on LinkedIn that are spamming and posting and and just pitching and pitching and pitching, I want people to come to you, right, and that absolutely can happen. But it takes a little work on your part to get it set up properly, right.

I’m sure you’ve seen the opposite of this, I’m sure you’ve seen in your LinkedIn, DMS, many, many people who I mean, some of them are pitching right in their connection requests, which I’ve I nuts and to frankly, if I don’t know you, and you’re pitching me in your connection requests, I’m probably going to report you as I don’t know you, which is definitely not going to help you with your LinkedIn strategy. Because if enough people do that LinkedIn is going to show your profile down. But I do that because it’s the only tool I have, right. So it may sound a little dramatic, but just a fact it is what it is right I.

But then there’s also people that get through the connection requests, right? And then they start pitching you and you start getting all those robotic message after message after message. I don’t you know, I guess that works. Because a lot of people are doing it. It’s just not what I do. And it’s not what I teach. And I don’t think you need to do that. I think that it annoys your network. And that’s the last thing I want to do. And it wastes a lot of your time you end up having a lot of you know calls with I’ve got, you can’t see me but I’ve got like my finger quotations going, you have a lot of calls with leads. But they’re not really leads because they’re just people that got through your filter, and now you’re wasting your time talking to them. And I just don’t want you to have to do that. So what do we do to shift the energy to shift the energy of your LinkedIn strategy of your LinkedIn profile of all things LinkedIn for you, from pushing desperate marketing to magnetic and attracting marketing, right, that’s we’re going to be talking about on this week’s episode. And there’s three places that I want you to pay some attention. Because when you pay attention in these three places, and you optimize them, that’s how you start to make your content and your profile magnetic. Okay. And it’s not just your profile, I shouldn’t have even said, your profile. It’s how you make your LinkedIn strategy magnetic. So now that I’ve said it’s not your profile, the first thing we’re gonna talk about is your profile. Because it’s important, right? And I gotta tell you, like, I’m a little tired of talking about your profile is funny coming from a LinkedIn trainer, right? But I feel like you got to know by now that you have to have a great LinkedIn profile. And that it is not a resume, right, your resume is all about who you used to be. I want your LinkedIn profile to be positioning you for the person you’re becoming dress for the job you want, right? Step into the person that you are stepping into with your LinkedIn profile. So forward facing, I’d love to see it be in first person, right? It’s me talking to you. It’s not you know, a marketing piece. It’s it’s human to human conversation. That’s what makes you magnetic, right, you’re creating, you’re starting to create the magnetic energy around your profile. So it’s got to start with you, speaking from your heart to people being really authentic in your profile, telling them exactly who you are.

There’s a couple places in your profile I want you to pay attention to initially. First, your headline, your headline should be telling people who you are, who you help and how you help them. It’s not that you don’t want to just say you know, CEO of uplevel media, which is, you know, my businesses, that’s not what my headline says, right? I headline tells you why you should be interested in me, because I’m telling you, how I help you, right. Like nobody really cares about you. They care about what you can do for them. So you want to make sure that you are showcasing that right up front right in your headline.

The second place I want you to pay attention to is your about section. And this used to be called your summary. And a summary is boring, right? It’s like the summary of a book The cliffnotes of a book but about tell me about the book. Now I’m asking you for your opinion. I’m asking you for something juicy, right? Give them something juicy. Again, first person, talk from the heart. Tell people you know why you’re so passionate about what you do. What brought you to do what you do. This is not about your business. This is about you. Okay about you as the expert, you as the influencer, you’re showcasing you you’re shining a light on you and your genius in this about section. You want to use every one of the characters there’s 2600 characters

Take a look at mine, you’re welcome to model yours after mine, you’ll see there’s a lot of whitespace I’ve got some, you know, I’ve got a call to action in there, I tell people exactly how to get started with me, you know, so take some time and really craft a great about section for your LinkedIn profile. By the way, these two sections are probably content you can use in other places, right, you might be able to use your LinkedIn bio, maybe in Facebook, or you know, in Twitter x, or whatever we’re calling it these days, right? Like, you can use that bio with that headline and other places, your you know, you can kind of modify it for your bio on Instagram, right? So you want to modify it, but at least it’s the foundation for all the other things you do, it might even be a quick bio that you want to use if you’re a speaker, right. So taking some time to do this is not like one and done it, it’s valuable to you on an ongoing basis.

And then the last section that I want you to pay attention to for now I want you to do your whole profile. But for now, I’d love to see you pay attention to the first experience section. Okay, because this is obviously what you’re doing now. Right? So you want to be attracting people you want to be magnetizing pulling people in to this first experience. So flesh it out, this is where you’re telling me about your business, right? You may want to tell me in the about section, you know, I started my business because I bla bla bla bla bla, right. But in your experience section, you’re going to be saying, as the CEO of this company, I my responsibilities are I am, you know, I find it important that I accomplish this, this and this, right, so. So that’s what you want to do in your first experience section. When these three sections are done. It’s the beginning of you creating this magnet that’s attracting people to your profile. But before we move on to the next section, I want to remind you that in order to attract the right people to your profile, you need to be using keywords, you need to be clear on what people are searching for on LinkedIn, that you want to come up in the search result. Now sometimes this is also going to work if they’re searching for this on Google. But keep in mind or whatever search engine they’re using. But keep in mind that sometimes what you search on Google isn’t what you’d be searching for on LinkedIn. Right? So if you have if you sell supplements, right? Nobody is on LinkedIn, looking for a vitamin D supplement, which was what they might be searching in a search engine, but they might be looking for a vitamin D distributor on LinkedIn. Right? So thinking a little bit differently than your traditional search engine SEO here on LinkedIn, create and you might even ask AI chat GPT to help you with this what? What are the keywords that you want to that that people are searching for on LinkedIn that you want to come up in their search results, that’s how this becomes magnetic, right. And you want to use those words over and over and over not to a place where it looks crazy. But wherever it’s authentic, wherever you can, in fact, you want to make sure you have skills listed for those, those keywords and you want them if you don’t have a lot of endorsements for those skills, ask some people for endorsement for those skills, right? All of these things start to create a magnetic profile. And I remember one time being speaking at an event and I had a table and I was standing at the table and somebody came up to me at the table. And she’s like, I don’t use LinkedIn, it’s just a bunch of garbage. It doesn’t really work for me. You know, when I look to see what I come up for and keywords, I come up for dog walker. And I was like I just laughed, and I said, Well, that’s not LinkedIn is fault, right? You’re not feeding it properly. If you’re if you’re coming up for things like dog walker, it means you’re not feeding it properly, you have to think about what keywords you want to be using and use them over and over in your profile. And by the way, the way she knew that is if you go on over to LinkedIn, and you open up your profile, right, so you’re looking at your actual profile on LinkedIn, not just the LinkedIn homepage of your clicking actually view profile. And at the top, you should have something that says analytics and tools. And when you click on that, there will be an analytics section. And in that analytics section, it one of the one of the options is how many times you’ve come up in search appearances in the last week, right now that’s just a number, it just tells you how many times you came up. But if you click on that, it will tell you the actual words that people used for you to come up in that in those searches. Okay, so you want to you want to be thinking about that you want to you want to see that you want to make sure that they are in line with what you want to be found for if not, you’ve got to go in and do some work on those sections that I talked about on your profile. By the way I am here to help you with that we’ve created because like I said, when I started this little section of this episode, that I’m kind of getting tired of talking to people about profiles, we created a really crazy low cost program to help you with your profile. If you go to LinkedIn profile training.com We can help you with your profile there. So if you need help with your profile, go to LinkedIn profile training.com happy to help you. We try to try to make it no brainer easy so everybody has access to a really simple program to help you optimize your profile because it is the start to having a magazine

Adding energy around your LinkedIn strategy. Okay, the next thing I want to talk about is having a LinkedIn company page, I want you to use up all the real estate you can on LinkedIn. Right? If you want to be magnetic, you want you need to have all you need to be using all the real estate LinkedIn gives you. Now the beautiful thing about a company page is it’s really easy. You can create, it’s really easy to create a company page, if you don’t know how to do that. I mean, just Google it, how do I create a LinkedIn company page, there’ll be a link there and the minute you get to the right link, and if you need that, come on over to LinkedIn and ask me and I’ll be happy to share that link with you. But the minute you get to that link, it just walks you step by step through how to do that. And if you have a website, you probably can copy and paste most of the stuff to your company page from your website. So it’s not like your profile, where it’s about you, this is truly about your company. So you may, you probably have already done some of the work that you need to do to have a proper LinkedIn company page. And hopefully, when you created that for your website, you created it with SEO in mind, right search engine optimization, so that that same theory, that same energy of having a magnetic approach on LinkedIn will apply to your LinkedIn company page. A few things happen when you have a LinkedIn company page. First of all, it kind of elevates your status on LinkedIn. Because when you create that first experience section that I talked about a little bit earlier, you’re going to actually choose the company page, when it says what’s the title of the company that you work for. And when you choose it, as opposed to typing it in, right, you’re going to, you’re going to look for it and select it if it’s once the company page is created. And then what will happen is that company page logo will be next to the experience section on your profile. And if you click that logo, it takes people right to your company page. So right off the bat, you get a little extra gravitas. By having a company page, it’s completely free. By the way, all of this is completely free, right? This this LinkedIn strategy that I’m teaching you here. So create a LinkedIn company page. And again, feed it with those keywords, make sure that it’s rich in keywords. I remember one time I was searching for something on on a search engine, I don’t remember what it was, but it something LinkedIn related and somebody else’s LinkedIn company page came up. I was like, Oh, hell no, I need to be covered up for this. Right. So. So I spent some time really working on my LinkedIn company page so that it came up more in searches, right? So you want to do that same thing for you, you want to make sure that you’re doing this because here’s the thing, my guess for you is that most of your competition is not doing this. Me everybody that teaches LinkedIn marketing knows how to do this, right. So most of my competitors who know how to do this, yours do not. So you are going to come up not only are you going to make have a magnetic strategy, but you’re probably going to come up at the top of the searches, because your competitors probably don’t know how to do this. Right. So you’re going to create, you’re going to optimize your profile. Number one, you’re going to create a LinkedIn company page, I’m going to talk for one second about showcase pages. So what a showcase pages is it is a page within your company page. So like for example, I can have my company page up level media. And then if I wanted to, I can have a showcase page for my she’s linked up program, I can have a showcase page for my podcast, right? I can have different showcase pages. I do not because I what I stand for is I want you to have a very simple and powerful strategy. And each showcase page you create is another page you have to maintain. Right? So you’ve got to post content to it. You have to grow followers on it, right? So I’m not saying don’t do a showcase page, I want you to know that it exists. And I’m here I am telling you use all the real estate you can on LinkedIn. But then weigh it against the importance and your your energy around Do you really want to have another page to maintain? Okay, so I don’t have a showcase page for any of my services, at least at this moment in time. Because I think that I don’t think the value of it outweighs the reality of me having to maintain it. But you absolutely want to have a company page.

Let me talk for a second speaking of my LinkedIn program, she’s linked up program I want to tell you about it for a second. Or she’s linked up accelerator program is a 12 week program that teaches women how to create a strategy a simple magnetic and powerful strategy that attracts high ticket opportunities in a magnetic way, right through a LinkedIn and PR strategy. I want by the end of the 12 weeks for you to have landed a big fat giant contract and a media hit. This identity shifting stuff in our choosing DAP program, and I gotta tell you, the women in my program are just amazing. You guys blow me away, day in and day out. So if you want to hang out with some of these amazing women that I get to hang out with, let’s chat, you know the first step to creating a powerful magnetic strategy. Well step one, listen to this podcast. The next step, book a call with me grab a spot at Karen yankovich.com

slash call, get on our calendar. And let’s chat and see if it’s a fit to work together to help you take a few more steps down this path to becoming a wealthy women of Women of Influence. I want that for you. And I’m here to help you do that if you feel like the time is right, Karen yankovich.com/call is all you got to do to grab a spot on our calendar.

All right, so the last thing I want to talk about the last piece of real estate I want you to create and have on LinkedIn on a consistent basis is the LinkedIn newsletter, LinkedIn newsletters run on the LinkedIn Pulse network, right, which is their publisher network. So it’s like publishing, when you’re creating a LinkedIn newsletter. It’s like publishing content, LinkedIn, I’ve heard LinkedIn, say, and they say this, and I’m not sure how true it is. But these are the number they’re the number one content hub on the internet, the number one content hub on the internet. Is your content there, right? Do you have a LinkedIn newsletter, it doesn’t have to be anything fancy. If you send out a newsletter every week to your to your email list, copy that newsletter over to LinkedIn and create a weekly LinkedIn newsletter. Because it’s more real estate you want to take and it’s more search juice that you have when people are on search engines or LinkedIn searching for what it is that you do, right. So you want to have a LinkedIn newsletter that positions you. So that you, you know, so that you have more and more content out on LinkedIn, huge publishing network. And again, all of these things, bring more attract more people to your LinkedIn world, to your LinkedIn strategy to you on LinkedIn personally, and fills your calendar, right. That’s what I care about, I don’t really care how many people see your posts. What I care about is how many people on your calendar, and I care and I want them to be qualified people, by the way, not BS leads, because you spun some AI tool that put a bunch of people on your calendar that are wasting your time, I want you to if you’ve got five people on your calendar, I want you to close for them. Okay, and that is happening with the people that I work with. Because we work, we have a simple but a powerful strategy where we have some research done ahead of time and, and you know how you get some support and some help with this, right. So all of these things together, help fill your calendar, where you are not just getting on the phone with people, but you’re taking the next step beyond those calls, whatever that looks like for you right towards and bring these people into your world. And that is how we have more wealthy women on this planet, because they are talking to the kinds of people that change everything. When I speak to people 99 out of 100 times when I talk to people and say where did the biggest opportunities come from in your business? They tell me referrals. They don’t say I because I had 10,000 people see a post on it on Instagram. They say referrals, referrals happen when you talk to people, and you don’t have to talk to a ton of people, right? You just talk to a few people every single week. And this magnetic strategy that I talked about here on this week’s show, is how you start with that. And you do this in a in an authentic way. It feels good to me, I love when people come to me and I’m not pounding the pavement to try to find people. I’ve been there. I’ve been around long enough that I had a time in my life where I do cold calls, picking up the phone calling people that were having dinner, right? I’ve been there. I never want to do that. Again, there is never a reason to do a cold call on LinkedIn, if you create this magnetic strategy. Okay, so how do you do that, let’s recap this for a second. The first thing you want to do is optimize your profile, you want to we talked a little bit earlier about the places you want to do that. Second thing you want to make sure that you’ve created and I’ve optimized the company page. And you do want to post on there every now and then you don’t want there to be crickets happening on your company page. And then the third thing is you want to have a LinkedIn newsletter, you want to have a weekly newsletter that goes out to everyone so that you are publishing content consistently on LinkedIn, the number one content hub on the internet. Okay. So I hope this inspires you to number one, use LinkedIn more, because I can’t tell you how many times I hear in a week, women that are telling me they’re not even using LinkedIn because they feel that it’s just so spammy. And I get it, I get it. But it doesn’t have to be that way for you. It doesn’t have to be that way for you just ignore the people spamming you and show up with your heart with intention organically and authentically attracting the exact right people. Okay, so if you’re not sure where to get started, I don’t know if you’ve taken our quiz yet. But we did a whole series on this podcast if you go back a few episodes, as well.
