About the Episode:

Wow have my views on artificial intelligence (AI) and digital marketing have transformed! If you would’ve asked me a year ago, I would’ve told you AI isn’t my thing. But now? I’m all about it, and how it can make my She’s LinkedUp training programs even smoother!

But let’s make one thing clear: The human touch in what I do, especially steering clear from LinkedIn spamming, is irreplaceable. Yes, I’m intrigued by AI’s level up in content creation, customer service, and personalizing user experiences, but injecting authentic-you in your content? That’s how you make noise in a sea of AI-crafted content.

I’m hearing people concerned that the interactions they’re having are even with real people! Can you believe we’re in a world where we have to assure that?

In every bit of content you put out there, weave in your stories, your perspectives, your feelings. Making your audience feel a connection with you is the mark of successful content. With authenticity comes trust, and with the AI wave getting stronger, it’s essential to portray a genuine persona in all your marketing endeavors. I always emphasize the power of emotional intelligence in creating rapport in your marketing game.

There’s a dark side to relying too much on AI. I see AI as a starter tool, a handy assistant, but never a crutch. Content comes alive in the human dance of words and feelings, and AI can’t do that dance for you. Relationships built on human interactions are genuine, and AI simply can’t emulate that essence.

Throughout this podcast episode, I reassure you that even while playing with various AI tools, I’m committed to authenticity, maintaining that Karen touch that you know and love.

Hello there. I’m your host, Karen Yankovich. And this is episode 262 of the good girls get rich podcast. And a year ago ish. I talked about how I just thought AI was just not something I wasn’t at all interested in on this podcast, I will leave it there because it’s just interesting how fast things change in a year. And now I’m like, I’m all in. In fact, moving into 2024, we’re going to be incorporating lots and lots of AI techniques into our she’s linked up training. I think that there’s lots of ways that we can use it to just to to take some of the load off of our to do list, right? I think it’s a really great assistant in some areas. You will never, ever, ever, and oh my gosh, if if in 2024 I’m talking, I’m writing an episode saying Remember when I talked about that I was never going to do this. You get to call me out on this. But I can promise you that I can’t imagine what would it need to change in the world? For me to ever say we’re going to use AI to connect with 100 people a week on LinkedIn and send out spam messages. That’s not what I mean, by leaning into AI. I think that there’s a lot of good reasons to use AI and AR marketing. And we’re gonna be talking more about that moving forward. If you’re doing research, if you know things like that it’s more of a first draft tool. It’s open on my desk all day long every day, right my the chat GBT prompts and we’re exploring some other AI tools. And just so we’ve gotten so good at using it to help us identify who our ideal client is and what their wants are and what their needs are. But here’s the thing, what has not changed, besides the fact that there’s no way I’m ever going to use AI to spam my LinkedIn network. And nor do I ever recommend that you do that. I think that that just is counterintuitive to everything we’re talking about, and everything that we need to do in this in this marketing world we live in. But I heard something recently, that really kind of shook me to the core a little bit. It was somebody that was connected to on Facebook that was talking about the fact that they recently got a high ticket client. And all the interactions, I guess were via DM and things like that, which is not common, right. Like most of the most of the time, I’m talking to people on Zoom to enroll people in more programs. But there are people that just want that are happy chatting with you in the DMS. I’m cool with that too. But before they would give them their credit card, they asked them to do a video talking about things that they had specifically talked about. So they knew they were real, that there was a real person that they were talking to, I was like, wow, I get that I get that right, do you get that? Now, here’s the thing, there’s probably AI tools that will allow you to do that, right, there’s probably AI tools that will allow you to create that will create a video as you talking about these things, right. So we’re not going to get into that right now. But what it what it made me think about was the importance of letting people know your FurReal. For the last year or two I’ve been talking about marketing has been getting needing to be more intimate, right, your marketing needs to be more intimate people need to know that they need to know like and trust you, you know, when the work that I’m talking about here, and you’ve heard me have heard me say this a few times is I’m not really here talking to you about how to sell a pen, I’m here to help you get a distributor that wants to buy 10,000 of your pens, right. And if somebody’s buying 10,000 of your pens and giving you that credit card for that big fat, juicy opportunity, it’s so important that you’re in your marketing, you’re portraying that you are in fact, a real person. Okay, and I can’t even believe I’m talking about this now. But it’s so true. It’s so true. You know, with the rise in AI in marketing, you know, it’s being used to create content, it’s customer service, personalization of user experiences, right? So can you understand why this authenticity is so even more important than it’s ever been in this kind of like high tech context that we’re talking about? You know, when I interviewed Donald Bravada, for the show, and we’ll link to this in the show notes, Don and I talked a lot about AI and AI over the same generation. So, you know, we’re not like, you know, we’re not in our 20s anymore, but understanding the power and how cool these tools can be when used in the right places. But as we use them more to create content, as we use them more even for customer service and things like that, it’s even more important that we show up in as our authentic selves. So, you know, there are some challenges, you know, differentiating between content created by humans and content created by AI. Right. So it’s important though, you infuse the human touch, listen, we’ve all seen them. And frankly, I’ve used them right, like create all your content in 10 minutes with you know, these two tools right can Canva allows you to upload a bunch of quotes and then merge them with templates and then pop out a bunch of stuff, right? I love all that. But then I do think that when you’re creating the captions around all of this, and the descriptions to all of this content, you want to infuse your personal point of view, right? Because if you’re not infusing your personal point of view, then what makes you different? Why is anybody gonna buy your stuff or invest in you over someone else, you know, somebody reached out to me recently, and somebody that had no experience whatsoever in content creation, or writing, saying, Oh, my gosh, I’m gonna start writing, I’m gonna use AI to start writing. And it was like, again, a little bone chilling to me, because they probably could do that, right, they could probably create a really comfortable living now doing these things. So as somebody who is kind of anti that, and creates a really comfortable living, and teaches other people how to create a really comfortable living, by being authentic, then you have to make sure that you are getting you know that you’re differentiating your content from that content that’s just getting put out there. That’s just getting a tool spinning. And then to get out there. I love the idea of using a tool to get you started, right? But then you’ve got to infuse your point of view your human touch your stories, right? Because this is what builds trust. Authenticity builds trust. And in this era, where AI generated content is just growing. I mean, I’ve never seen anything like this in all my years, and I’ve been around a while, right? It’s so important to be transparent and genuine, when you’re building trustworthiness and reliability into a brand. Right? So you need to be spending time creating that trust creating that transparency. And with things like video, more video, right? Even this podcast, I probably could, you know, I mean, I’m gonna say maybe in a year, I could just put some ideas into a, you know, into something and say, you know, can you just pop out a podcast for me, I’m tired this week, I don’t want to do it myself, right. Like, maybe I’ll be able to do that at some point. But hopefully at that point, at least, it’s got enough knowledge to know who I am and what I talked about what it sound like, right? Like he believed we were talking about this. So you definitely want to continue to be transparent and genuine. With things like video with things like audio, especially if you’re on camera, actually, honestly, showing up in person as often as you can, I think is going to become even more important than it’s ever been before, at least in my brand, at least for my brand, write more in person events, more in person conferences, I like to have in person meetups, when I can if I’m going to be in other parts of the world, or even here in New Jersey, with the people that are in my shoes linked up products and programs, because I like to meet people in person, I have a commitment when I build up my marketing plan for the new for the upcoming year, I have a commitment to doing weekly lunch dates, I want to have a date, a weekly date in person with somebody so that I’m actually getting out of my office more and I’m seeing people and meeting people. And I you know, I would like that maybe that’ll be you. Right? You know, there’s a lots of conferences on my agenda in 2024. I’d love to see you there. Because this is how we build trust with authenticity. Hey, it’s Karen. And I wanted to just jump in here for a minute. And just remind you that you know, most of the people that listen to this show, or that I work with are smart, successful, busy people. And I’m sitting here saying we don’t want to spend a tool to do this work for you that you’ve got to do this work yourself. To get that it sounds like maybe that’s a lot of work, it’s absolutely not, I have worked really hard to create a simple process that allows you the CEO or the owner, or the person who is responsible to be building the wealth in your life, to have a process to have the kinds of calls on the calendar that can allow that wealth to grow. Without it sucking up hours and hours and hours of your time, which is why I talked about in this episode that we’re going to be incorporating a lot of AI techniques into our program, because I do think AI can alleviate some of the busy work that we do. Because you know, I personally am very committed to ensuring that we’re falling into these terms of service with everything that I teach, because, hey, listen, we wanted our LinkedIn accounts to get suspended, right, because we’re doing all this work. So as we do that, it means we’re not using a tool to spin to send out a million spam messages. But it also means maybe your VA doesn’t login right to so I got your back on this just so you know, the processes we teach, we incorporate how you can how you can incorporate an assistant into this that you are truly just showing up in a in a powerful way. I don’t want you doing all this busy work, and which is one of the reasons why we’re excited about incorporating some of the AI tools that we’re incorporating into our program for 2024 and beyond, so that we can leverage our time we can stay in the place of our donor genius and not bogged down by a lot of busy work. So if you want to know what it looks like to be building a marketing plan like this i I would love to see your name on our calendar, just go on over to Karen yankovich.com/call. And we can chat and see if it’s a fit to get you some support. Either way, these calls are really valuable, we want to make sure that we are giving value at every single thing we do and starts right here. So look forward to seeing your name on the calendar.

You know, at the end of the day, what AI cannot do is really understand emotional intelligence. Emotional Intelligence is inherently human, it’s not replicable by AI, at least not now. Right? So when you when you have a marketing campaign, you want it to demonstrate empathy, you want to demonstrate understanding and genuine emotion, that the things that resonate most deeply with your customers. Now, you could use AI to do the research on that, right? But then you’ve got to show up as your authentic self understanding and showing that emotional intelligence around that empathy, understanding and emotion. Right. Does that make sense? So I think we’re gonna be talking about this for a long time, this is not going away, right? So I can’t even tell you what we’re going to be talking about next year. Like I think it’s actually pretty funny that last year, I was talking about the fact that I don’t really want to use AI. Right here I am going I love AI, I think we’re gonna dive into it. And in a big way in in 2024. In this she’s linked up training, we’re already modifying it. In fact, the week that I’m recording this, I’m actually doing a deep dive AI training with my she’s linked up society, mastermind people on really, how do you really get to the heart of your ideal client using these AI tools, which is so cool, and it will help you with your marketing. But it doesn’t mean you can step away from your marketing. So let’s recap this a little bit. We know that there’s a rise in AI. Okay, we have got to distinguish, you have got to distinguish your content with infusing your human self into your content, whether that’s through video, whether that’s just rewriting content, rewriting the descriptions around that putting in some stories or point of view, right? You’ve got to distinguish that because that’s how we build trust, the trust is built with authenticity. Okay, the trust is built with authenticity. And we’re talking here about using LinkedIn, for these and PR for these deeper relationship based high ticket offers. And that authenticity is, is important. Emotional Intelligence is something that we can personally infuse into our marketing, right? It’s inherently human, that empathy, understanding and emotion. This is how we resonate more deeply with our customers. And we get to that personalized, that more vulnerable. That more intimate marketing that I’ve talked about for the last year or two, okay, I guess maybe even post pandemic, with the pandemic, I feel like the world got so noisy that we needed to get more intimate with our marketing. Listen, I don’t know where this is going. But I’m here for it. I’m around. And I’m looking forward to playing with these tools and helping it save me time. So as we move into 2020, for whether or not AI can replace people’s jobs, I’m not here to talk about that. That’s certainly not my area of expertise. But what it cannot replaces you it cannot replace you in your marketing, and you must be present, you must show up as worthy of people’s time, you must show up as caring. And as somebody who is truly worth, you know, is truly genuinely interested in the outcomes that your prospects are getting, and your current clients are getting. And you gotta do everything. We’ve got to do everything we can to let people know that we are for real, that we are real people, right? So I talk a lot about wanting to create more wealthy women of influence in this world, right? That is what I want to do. And I want to hang out with you guys personally, this is not you know, fake. Karen is not looking to hang out with people. There’s a lot of things fake Karen can do to help out. Because Karen, you know, real Karen can only be in certain amount of places at any one time.
