About the Episode:

As an entrepreneur, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. It can feel like there’s so much to do and not enough time to do it all. I get it.

It doesn’t have to be that way, though. What if I told you it’s possible to build ease into your business? Here’s how:

  1. Take a look at your revenue. Is the money coming in aligned with the energy going out?
  2. Take a look at your marketing. Is your marketing aligned with where the revenue is coming from?
  3. Create a simple plan, and commit to it. If you create a plan, what good is it if you don’t commit to it? But make sure to keep the plan simple!

Ease is in your future. Just start by adjusting these things in your business, and you’ll be on your way to ease and relaxation in no time!

So I wanted to do a show today to kind of dive into something that I talk about a lot. But I haven’t really explained what I mean by it, at least I don’t think I have so I wanted to dive a little deeper into that. And that is building in ease in your business and commitment. Right. So how can you do both? I want you to be commitment I want you to what are your money DRI consistently, right. I think LinkedIn is your money tree. And if you don’t consistently water it, like all other trees, right? It’s going to shrivel up and die. And it can be done with ease. You know, words that are important in my life are ease expansion, joy, sovereignty, right? I want to be sovereign is I don’t want to be like running around like a crazy person, right? I talk on the show a lot about growing your influence and your business with ease. And it can be done. And it doesn’t mean you don’t have to put in any effort, right? But I want you to put in intentional effort, not having 25 million things on your to do list, right? But having intentional effort, can you relate to this? Like do you sometimes feel like you’re just spinning your wheels, right, and you’re not feeling ease in your business, I intentionally build that in and listen, it is easier to do that. And sometimes in other times, at the time that I’m recording this show, my son’s getting married in a few days, we are having a in person mastermind for our she’s linked up family in Arizona, I’m going to be speaking at the she podcast conference in Arizona, my mastermind, the group that I’m a part of is having a live event in California. So I have a lot of things going on. So I am working a little bit more than I normally like to work but I’m doing it intentionally right. I’m doing it intentionally. It’s not something I do all the time. So that’s kind of what I want to talk about today. How Can Can you relate to that though? Can you relate to there being like ebbs and flows, right? Sometimes we’re just gonna have to put a little bit of extra time in and I love what I do so much that I’m willing to do that. But imagine less pressure and more ease and more income. When you do this this way. Right? I’m so down for that. I am so down for that. I think that we can do that. I think that we can intentionally when we’re intentionally building out what we want to do, we can do it with more ease. And that brings us more income. So I want to talk a little bit about what I mean by all of that now. So at the time that this is going live, it’s early, q4, 2021, right? And what I want you to do is take a look at your 2021 revenue, I want you to look at where the money’s coming from, okay, maybe you have a membership site, maybe you have a salary, right? Maybe you’re maybe you’re employed and you have a salary, maybe you are a coach, and you do one on one work and you’re trying to build more membership type things or group programs into your business. Maybe you are an author and you had a book come out, right, whatever that is, I want you to look at your revenue. And I want you to open your eyes and let me tell you something, sometimes this isn’t easy to look at. I want you to open your eyes to where it’s coming from. Okay, is the money that’s coming in, in alignment with the energy that’s going out. Think about that for a second, right is the money that’s coming in, in alignment with the energy that’s going out. You know, one of the things that I that I do the first thing I do when I work with me People, whether it’s in my program or privately, is we really look for their high ticket offer. And I know that that is against the grain in a lot of ways, I know that a lot of people are looking to leverage their time and have a group program and all that other stuff. But I also know that there’s a whole lot more money in that. And listen, I have a group program, right? So I’m not knocking group programs. But I think that if we look at our revenue, right, and if the vast majority of our revenue is coming from one on one work, but the vast majority of our energy is going into trying to get a group program off the ground, posting a million times to make that happen, then we have to look at that disconnect. And maybe it’s an alignment for you. And that’s, then that’s amazing. But if it’s not, it isn’t gonna get any better next year, right? It isn’t gonna get any better next year, what I want is for you to be looking at, like if most of your revenue is coming in from, from private clients, bring more of that money in and hire somebody to do all the tasks that are involved in getting your group program off the ground, right? I want your energy focused on where the biggest impact can be. And my guess, is a lot of what you’re doing. If this is resonating with you might be able to be done by other people. But then you get in that that vicious circle, right? What do I do? Do I, you know, I don’t have the money coming in to pay somebody and write this circle. So take a really clear look at where your money is coming in and look intentionally to see if it’s in alignment with the energy that you’re putting out. Alright, that’s the first thing I want you to do. And then the second thing I want you to do is look at your marketing. Is that in alignment with where the revenues coming from, right, are you putting a whole lot less work? Right to get one? You know, one $5,000? client, then 20 $500 clients, right? Or how many do we need? Yeah, however many clients, you need to do that, right? I’m not gonna do the math in my head right now. But it’s a whole lot less work, right? Is your marketing in alignment with where the revenue is coming from? Do you need to make some shifts? You know, one of the things that I love about LinkedIn, right, one of the most valuable reads the one of the reasons LinkedIn is one of the most valuable tools in my toolbox is it helps me get in front of other people’s audiences. Think about this for a second. Let’s say you’re an author, and you have a book and you want to sell 10 books, right? I don’t want to sell a million books. But let’s just say you want to sell 10 books, you can go to Instagram, and Facebook and Twitter, and reels and all that other stuff. And I’m not saying you shouldn’t do that, you can absolutely do that. And you can sell one book at a time. Or you can use LinkedIn, build a relationship with somebody who has an audience full of people that might be interested in your book, and make one relationship one phone call and have them either interview you for their program interview their you for your their podcast, maybe they’ll bring you on a Facebook Live, right? And that gets those 10 books sold with one marketing effort, not 10. I’m probably, you know, obviously it’s 10 successful marketing efforts and one successful marketing effort. How many unsuccessful marketing efforts are we doing? You know, we would I would love to sit here and say I’m, every single one of my efforts is, you know, turns into exactly what I wanted to turn into. That doesn’t happen, right? So imagine, See the difference? Do you see the difference there? Right? Are you leveraging LinkedIn, to build relationships with other people to get in front of their audiences, right, we’ve heard a lot about how to use other people’s money, I want to talk about how to use other people’s audiences, right? And then it’s much it’s much more ease built into your marketing to get in front of more people. So take a look, again, at your marketing is the marketing effort and money and results, the ROI isn’t in alignment with where the revenue is coming from, that you identified earlier. Okay. And do you need to make some shifts? And you know, I think that you want to, I want you to go to LinkedIn. And look, I want to see there because I bet that the relationships you you make on LinkedIn, if you take it down the rabbit hole, I mean, I can tell you that I’m thinking of one in one incident right now. And maybe you guys will recognize yourselves in this. I met somebody at an in person networking event, maybe five years ago, and she invested in me, I helped her with only to marketing and she introduced me to somebody else who invested in me, she actually introduced me to her audience, right? So she interviewed me or connected me with somebody that interviewed other people that does what she does. And a few people joined my program from there, but one of those people interviewed me about six months ago, and three of those people, right, join my program. So one connection five years ago, is still paying off for me. I’m not doing any marketing now to get this up, right? Of course, I put my podcast out and they can all see that and I and I’ve got consistent stuff going and we’re gonna we’re gonna talk about that next. But the relationships that you build very often are what lead to the business. So even when you look at the things I talked about in step one and two here, I want you to think about where did it originally come From right, did it originally like sometimes you can take it back a few steps. And you can realize that all of this stuff happened from this one thing, right? So I want you to be looking at that stuff and do more of that one thing, and less of all of the stuff was of all the things or, or, and maybe and or pay somebody to do all that other stuff, right? Do more of the big stuff, so that you can have somebody on your team to do all the stuff that you don’t need to be doing. That happens with other people’s audiences. Alright, so the third part of this is I want you to take all of that info, all of the info about where your revenues are coming from all of the info about where it, whether it’s an alignment with your energy, all the information about how the marketing fits in and alignment to all of that. And I want you to create a simple plan. I want you to create a simple plan, and I want you to commit to it. Be consistent, okay? And when you’re creating that plan, look at your life, right? Look at your life, how many days do you want to commit to doing this? Maybe you only want to work three days a week. That’s cool. That’s really cool. As an entrepreneur, we get to choose that stuff, right? Maybe you want to take Wednesday as a free day, right? Because every Wednesday you want to spend time with your family or your kids, you want to take your kids to the park or you want to, you know, in my case, I’m babysitting my grandkid, I love being able to spend days with my grandkids, right? And but but here’s what I love. I know that for me, the best time for me to record podcasts is Saturday mornings. So I’m happy to work a few hours on a Saturday morning, because I can bang out a couple podcasts, it’s typically uninterrupted. And then I can take weekdays to spend with my with my kids and help them with their kids. Right? So it’s all about you, right? What what works for you. So create, create a simple plan, but you have to commit to it, right? ease does not mean you have to do anything, it means that you’re intentional about what you do. It’s in alignment, where the revenue is coming from, it’s in alignment with the marketing, it’s in alignment with the way you want to live your life. I hope that makes sense. I hope that makes sense. You know, I talked to so many people every month, and so many of them are putting in so many hours, you know of what I call cross your fingers marketing, right? creating stories and posts and reels, because that’s what they think they need to do. They see other people doing that. I’m not saying don’t do that. But I’m what I’m saying is do it intentionally and consistently. So first, look at your revenue, see where the money’s coming from, and see if it’s in alignment with where your energy is, right? See if it’s in alignment with the amount of energy you’re putting out. Right? If it makes sure that that that that’s in alignment, then the second thing is, look at the marketing roll around. All of that is that in alignment with where the revenue is coming from. And maybe you need to make some shifts, and maybe need to spend a little more time on LinkedIn, in front of other people’s audiences, right, and then take all that information and create a simple plan and commit to it be consistent. I can tell you, I love Love, love doing my podcast, and it comes out every single week, we miss every now and then I’m not gonna say that never happens, it does. But to me, when I when I’ve committed to being consistent with this podcast, you get to expect it, it gives me a chance to bring my voice to you. Hopefully it’s supportive and helpful to you. Right. And I’m consistent with it, it doesn’t take me a lot of time every month at all right? But I will tell you, if I stopped doing everything else, I don’t think my income would take a big hit. Now listen, I I can tell you that I personally, I’m committed to doing a better job with some of the other marketing stuff in the next six months to a year as a test as a trial, right, but I’m not doing it personally, right, because I’ve created a marketing plan that’s in alignment with where the revenue is, and in alignment with where my energy is right and created a plan from there. So you can absolutely do that. Make sure your energy and output is in alignment with the results you’re getting. And you’re starting to build ease into your business and into your life. And while it doesn’t mean your business is gonna grow while you’re doing nothing, but sitting on the beach all day, all week or month or a year, it does mean more beach days in your life. And for me, I love that right? I love all that. If you’re looking for some help with learning how to do that, that’s what we do here at she’s linked up, we create wealthy women of influence.
