I’ve heard all the excuses. “I can’t afford web hosting”. “I’m not techy”. “I don’t know what I’m doing”. “It’s all Greek to me”. I’ve heard them ALL!
And I know you. You’re a Reiki practitioner, or a yoga instructor, or a personal trainer, not a geek.
Today, I’m going to blow all of your excuses out of the water. I’m going to show you how to have a website for $8.
It’s 2013. When was the last time you saw a phonebook? When someone is looking for a service, they go to the Internet. You need a website. Period. AND you can do it yourself. AND it’s going to look professional and be organized and functional. And it will only cost you $7.99. I promise! Take a look.
Don’t you just LOVE it? There are so many amazing resources available for your business. Some day, when your business can support the cost, you can still hire someone to do all the funky crazy creative things you want your website to do. You can move your domain name, you can keep whatever content you want by copying and pasting from your Weebly site. But NOW, TODAY, you are the proud owner of a new website for your Reiki practice, your yoga studio, your massage services. If doesn’t even have to be business related, you can do this for your family, heck register “www.crockettfamilyhangout.com”! There is an endless list of ways that you can use your new site. I know you can do this by yourself, but you don’t have to do this alone.
Congratulations on your new website! Comment below, tell me what you loved about this process, and where you might need more help. Don’t forget to leave your site address in the comment below so I can check it out!
Wow $8 bucks is really a steal. It doesn’t matter what your business is or who you service, a website is so important. Great tutorial, Karen!

Gloria the $8 isn’t MY price, it’s what you would pay NameSilo for your domain name. Their pricing seems to be pretty consistent, I don’t see it going up by much any time soon. Looking forward to talking to you next week!
YAY! Thank you, Karen, for the GREAT info! A couple of years ago, I set up a site…. for about 150 bucks! Little did I know that I could do this…! I was up and published in about 20 minutes! AWESOME! Now to get to the rest of the stuff…!
Awesome Patsy! Share the site with us when you’re ready, I want to see it!

You really found a way to make this whole process eiaser.
Hi Karen!
thanks so much for this great tutorial. I have recently purchased 2 domains via namesilo (and your coupon!) I already have a weebly site using a .weebly.com domain and I would like to switch to my new .com
What will happen when people who have bookmarked my old site go there? is it possible to somehow have an “i moved here” function without starting from scratch?
You can forward your old site to your new site easily. Your host can walk you through that if you call tech support. What is your new domain name? I want to check it out! Congratulations!
Pretty nice post. I just stumbled upon your blog and
wanted to say that I’ve truly enjoyed browsing your weblog posts. In any case I will be subscribing on your feed and I’m hoping you write once more soon!
Now i’m seriously influenced along with your ability as a copywriter in addition to while using the arrangement on your own web site. Is a new paid out subject matter or maybe does one change the item oneself? Regardless remain in the great high quality creating, it really is exceptional to look an awesome blog site such as this one these days.
Hi Karen,
thank you so much for all this insight and great tutorial!
I had a website for my small dance studio set up for quite some money last year, can’t host it properly by myself now and was very unhappy with the whole situation.
In addition to my studio I set up an online shop on the dawanda-platform, where I sell handmade sterling silver chainmail jewelry.
Now, with the help of your video tutorial, I will try to set up a new website for this jewelry business and maybe a new one for my dance studio as well. I’m really excited!
I’m just not sure, if it wouldn’t be better to combine both businesses in one website under my name “gerlindelanger.com”, or something like is. The idea just appeals to me, because both branches are quite small businesses, that carry my name.
Anyway, thanks a lot for your help! I’ll keep in contact and am looking forward to future posts from you,
warm greetings from Austria,
Gerlinde
Hi again – “www.gerlindelanger.com” secured at namesilo already 🙂
Awesome! Post again when your site is live so we can check it out! Congratulations.
