About the Episode:

In the previous episode, I shared my initial skepticism towards AI, despite being a tech geek. However, as I started experimenting with it, I realized how much of a time-saver it can be. So, today, we’re diving deeper into the topic of LinkedIn and AI, specifically focusing on content strategies.

Before we proceed, I want to emphasize the importance of fact-checking and adding your personal touch to AI-generated content. While AI can be a fantastic tool, it’s crucial to ensure the accuracy and authenticity of the information it provides. So, don’t just spit out content without reviewing and refining it to align with your brand and voice.

Now, let’s talk about content generation. I view AI and ChatGPT as the answer to the dreaded blank page syndrome. If you ever find yourself struggling to come up with ideas for posts or articles on LinkedIn, AI can be a game-changer. Here are some prompts you can use with chat GPT to generate engaging content:

  • Start by asking for help in creating an engaging post or article on a specific topic for your LinkedIn profile. You can also request a list of ten topics to choose from.
  • Need ideas for thought leadership articles or posts? Ask AI to assist you in brainstorming relevant ideas for your LinkedIn content.
  • Want to make your posts more discoverable? Ask for trending hashtags on LinkedIn related to your topic. For example, you can request suggestions for trending hashtags on impostor syndrome to improve content visibility.
  • If you’re looking to boost engagement, ask AI for ideas on industry-relevant poll questions. These polls can help initiate conversations and drive engagement on LinkedIn.
  • Additionally, you can ask AI for tips on creating effective LinkedIn polls and how to make them more meaningful. This will help you create engaging and insightful content.

Remember, once you have generated these content ideas using ChatGPT, consider batching your content creation. Spend some dedicated time creating a Google Drive folder where you can store all your content. This will allow you to schedule your LinkedIn posts in advance, ensuring a consistent presence on the platform.

For those of you who are part of our LinkedUp program, keep an eye out for more AI strategies integrated into our curriculum. If you’re interested in learning how to leverage AI effectively and build a magnetic LinkedIn strategy, I invite you to schedule a call with me. Just visit karenyankovich.com/call to book a time that works for you.

To access a downloadable PDF with all the chat GPT prompts mentioned in this episode, simply visit karenyankovich.com/240download.

Remember, AI is a powerful tool that can save you time and elevate your LinkedIn presence. Embrace AI as a game-changer and time-saver in your LinkedIn content strategy.

Welcome to the good girls get rich podcast with your host, Karen Yankovich. This is where we embrace how good you are girl, stop being the best kept secret in town, learn how to use simple LinkedIn and social media strategies and make the big bucks.

Karen Yankovich 0:23
Hello there. I’m your host, Karen Yankovich. And I’m wondering, I wish I knew you thought about last week’s show, which was part one of this two part series. So what does that make this part two talking about LinkedIn and AI. You know, I mentioned that a couple months ago, I did a whole blog post on why I don’t love AI, even though I’m a tech geek. And you know what, like, as I started to ease into it, and I started to mess with it, I’m like, okay, all right, I can make this work. Because it is such a stinking time saver. And listen, I want you to know, because we’re gonna be talking more about content this week. Last week, we talked a lot about relationship building stuff. This week, we’re gonna be talking more about content, strategies. I want you to remember this is first draft stuff, AI is it there’s, you’re gonna get some wrong information? For sure. You know, I went into chat GPT, which is the tool that we’re I use to create the strategies we’re going to talk about here today. And I said, Who is Karen Yankovich. And it popped out this great bio of me If only it was true, right? There was a there was one or two things in there that I’m like, Huh? Yeah, not so much. Right. So I loved it. I wish I was that person, right. But there was a couple things that there was a lot of that I knew about me, right? Like it definitely knew I knew it was talking about me. But there was a few things in there that were not true. And I tell you that because you cannot use this tool, and not check your work. And fact check things and add your own voice and add your own personality. And, and please don’t just like spit stuff out with this because it’s going to negatively impact your strategy. And I definitely don’t want to do that. But if you use it in these very authentic ways that I’m going to share with you here today, it is going to save you some time, it is going to certainly save you some money to it can be like a practically free virtual assistant to to save, you know to help you save some time. So again, last week, we talked about relationship building stuff. And connecting stuff this we’re going to be focusing more on content and visibility. There’s so much more we can talk about, right. But I can’t make every episode of the show about LinkedIn and AI. So I hope you had a chance to play with this last week, I would love for you to go to Karen yankovich.com/ 240, which will be the blog for this show and look for the link for SpeakPipe. And tell me, leave me a voice message and tell me what you think about this what you’ve tried how it worked. If you have any tips that I didn’t think of that it didn’t share, I want to hear them. And know this in this episode, if you go to Karen yankovich.com/ 240 Download, you’re gonna get a download to all the chat GPT prompts that I talked about in both this Episode and Episode 239. You can print it and use it you know, at your desk so that you have these prompts, save them to maybe a Google Doc, whatever. But Karen yankovich.com/ 240 Download gets you that PDF. All right. So you’re ready, you’re ready to dive into some more. Because remember, I said these are like two of my favorite things, game changers and time savers. Right. Alright, so first I want to talk about and we’re gonna go this first one we’re going to spend a lot of time on and that is content generation. So you know, I’ve said this before I look at AI and chat GPT as in the answer to the blank page syndrome, right? I don’t know what to write, I don’t know what to post, what should I say bla bla bla. Now know that on LinkedIn, the best strategies for LinkedIn do not require you to be on like, you know, stories all day long. One post a day, Max 3456 Up to seven posts a week at most. So we’re gonna be talking about content generation, but know that you can spend some time creating this content and then have like week’s worth of content that you can drip into your feed and now you can schedule right into LinkedIn. Right? So I’m going to just kind of give you some I some posts, some techy PT prompts to get you started and we’ll talk about them kind of individually. So the first couple are first of all right like you can write I need help creating an engaging post or article right from my LinkedIn profile about and you put the topic in and now what you can do is say list 10 topics. And then after that, you can pick a topic and then you can say okay, now write me a you know 1000 character LinkedIn post about this or something like that, right? Or, you know, whatever is true for you. So you can ask you to to embellish on it. So first, you can say I want topics for an engaging post or article to put on my LinkedIn profile. You can ask it to assist you in brainstorming ideas for thought leadership articles or posts that you know that you want to put on LinkedIn. You could ask it to suggest trending hashtags on LinkedIn. Right? So like

One of the things I might says is suggest trending hashtags on LinkedIn related to impostor syndrome for better content visibility, right? That would be a prompt that I would use. So if I’m writing a post about impostor syndrome, I can I now know what hashtags to use with it? Right? And I, you know, there’s other ways to do this. But honestly, this just spits it out for you. You can ask for ideas for polls, right? Suggested engaging in industry relevant poll questions, to post on LinkedIn to drive engagement on blah, blah, blah, topic, right? You can ask it to provide tips on creating effective LinkedIn polls, right, that generate meaningful insights, you can ask it to help you for tips on how do you make these polls even more meaningful. So you can take all these different content ideas, and you can also ask them to expand because then you can say, once it gives you the ideas for the polls, now you can say, Okay, please write the post for this poll with three poll responses or four poll responses. And then you can say, give me four different poll responses. And then you can say it again, give me four different poll responses until you have the four you want, right? So you can use Chachi, pte to do this. And then what I would suggest you do is create like a Google Drive folder, that you can put all this content in like spend some time batch this stuff, right, once your heads in it, patch this stuff, and keep it on a Google Drive folder, and then schedule it out. Like I don’t schedule things out. I do schedule posts on LinkedIn, not all my stuff, obviously scheduled. But I do want to show up every day. So there are times that I scheduled content, although I don’t think you can schedule polls. So just know that but you can still put it on your calendar, you can have the poll ready to go and then score on your calendar and pop it in one day, right. But you can do that and schedule it out. I only schedule it out like maybe a week in advance, because you never know what topics are going to come up. Plus, you know what my days of having a social media agency taught me that you don’t want to have too much content scheduled in advance. Because when things happen in the world, you have no idea that you weren’t expecting to happen. And you might have a post going out there that I don’t know, maybe you know, could be insensitive to what might be going on in the world, right. But when you wrote the post it we didn’t know that was going to happen in the world, right? So I don’t go too far out. Because I also want to be authentic with my posting, and I don’t, you know, maybe something’s going on that I want to talk about. So I don’t want to lock myself out from being able to be authentic and jumping in and doing things live as well. There are some great content prompts, that I just shared with you. Again, if you go to Karen Yankovich shop, comm slash 240 download, you can list you’ll get a list of all these prompts.

We are building just so you know we are building more of this strategy into our shoes linked up program. So for those of you that are listening, that are in the program, look for this, if for those of you that are interested in learning how to do this more effectively, and how to build this into a strategy that is magnetic. That is bringing your ideal clients, you’d having your ideal clients going tell me more. That’s the kind of strategies we teach in our shoes linked up program. It is amazing, our goal is for our women to be creating at least a quarter million dollars a year businesses of a quarter million dollars a year if that sounds like too much money for you or a lot of money too. It’s not because six figure business owners, don’t get me started on that. You can work at McDonald’s and have more money in your bank account, right? I want there to be money in your bank account. I want you to be a wealthy woman of influence, I want you to be able to have enough money to make the kinds of choices you want. And we create LinkedIn strategies, LinkedIn and PR strategies that help you do that. So Karen yankovich.com/call, get you to my calendar. And you’re going to start seeing more and more in the program about how to incorporate AI into some of the strategies that you do. And honestly, if you get on a calendar, we’re gonna chat with you. If it’s a fit, we’ll tell you what it looks like. If it’s not a fit. We’ll tell you that too. I’m you know, honestly pretty picky about who joins the program. And I say that not because I want to be elitist, but because I don’t want to take your money. If you’re not, I don’t think I can help you right if I think I can help you. I’m going to tell you. So again, caring, calm slash home, get you there.

Okay, second idea on this. And this is something I hear so much. In fact, in my shoes linked up program, I have a whole video on how to find video content ideas. I’m telling you, this is a this is like people like I want to do more video, I don’t know what to do. And I’m like, just sit down and write out 20 ideas for videos. And the videos needs to be tiny topics, right? Not a million, like not a million. Like you don’t want five minute videos or 10 minute videos. Do you do not training videos, these are more like reels, right? Like tiny little topics, three minutes, five minutes at most, one minute, whatever that is. And you can ask Chad GPT something like brainstorm creative ideas for video content that I could share on my LinkedIn profile about and then list your topic right? And then ask them to give you 10 And then ask for more. And then what what you could do actually is once you have 10 you can then say please write a one please I’m polite to my chat up to just you know, please write a one minute real script for each topic. And it will write you the script it will bring you the script it’ll even che it will even say like cut to an image of this and cut to it writes you the script. Okay and it tells you what to do. Now of course you have to have some video editing skills for that but or somebody that knows how

To do this, but ask Chachi pte for the video content ideas and then ask it to read through the script for the video. Okay, you can ask it for ideas for LinkedIn live, you can say something like guide me on how to utilize LinkedIn live to host engaging live events or to host engaging discussions, right, you can say help me come up with topics and formats for LinkedIn live sessions that resonate with my audience of women over 40, you know, who want to elevate their brand, right? So you can literally ask chat GPT to give you ideas and then again, ask it for talking points now on LinkedIn live, I wouldn’t script it right, I would maybe ask for talking points, give me four talking points for each of these topics. Right. So you can you can do this so that you’re just jumping in then. And now you can go in and schedule them. And again, if you have a VA or an assistant, they can do a lot of this work, and then just feed it to you. And now you’re just showing up. But you’re showing up with an outline, you’re showing up with something, maybe you’ve pre approved. So you’ve you know, you’re not looking at code for the first time when you’re going live. But these are things that you can get some help with. And what I love about this the most is that this is new to us on LinkedIn, getting a lot of help on LinkedIn, at least in my world, because LinkedIn is so protective of not ever, ever giving anybody you’re logging in, that it’s been hard over the years to get VA support on a really authentic LinkedIn strategy. These are ways you can do that. You can have chat, GPT do all this research for you. Your assistant can help you with this. And then you just jump in and do the videos and do the work. It’s so freakin amazing. All right. And the last thing I want to talk about as it relates to content and copy is repurposing all of this. Now you can ask Chad GPT How do I repurpose this, you can take let’s just say you, you’ve got a topic, right? You create it, you got topics from the first thing about content topics. And then you asked it to create Yes, charge GPT to create a LinkedIn post for that topic, you can now create a new chat and chat GPT. And I use chat GPT for I pay like 20 bucks a month for it well worth it because I want it I want if I’m going to do it, I want the best. And it’s not $2 million a month or 20 bucks a month. And now you can go in and say you can copy that post, right, paste it into chat GPT and then say, Please reformat this post across social media platforms, and it will give you the same content but specifically formatted for your other social media platforms. And an even for like Twitter and Instagram will give you like the hashtags and stuff. It’s, I mean hashtags and emojis, It’ll even give you emojis. So once you’ve created the content, and like these first two sections, you can now say, Okay, now can show me how to report like rewatch repurpose this for my other platforms. Right? Again, you can ask it to, you know, optimize it for these other platforms, right, you can say you if you have an article that you’ve already done, let’s say you did an article on LinkedIn a few months ago, or you know, a few, whatever, a year ago, right, you can now say, you can grab that LinkedIn article, you can share it to chat GPT and say, Please transform this article into an engaging video content, right. So you can take content you’ve already done and repurpose it on LinkedIn and across other platforms, so that you are not continually having to come up with new ideas and new content. The odds are that even if people did see your original content six months ago, they’re not going to remember that, that it’s the same content, because hopefully, you’re talking about it in a different way. And even more, the odds are even greater that they probably, you know, all of your people did not see every post you have. So the odds of the same people seeing both and recognize it is both are almost zero. Okay, so let me recap this a second. First of all, you can go you can use chat GPT. To create content, you can ask it to help you brainstorm for ideas, give you topics, objects, trending hashtags, give you ideas for polls, right, you can do all of that you can use chat GPT for video content, ask it for ideas, ask it for scripts for reals for each one of these ideas. Ask it if it’s asked for ideas for LinkedIn live, ask it to give you three talking points for each of the topics for LinkedIn live, right. And this is you can even ask it to write the description that you’re going to post with the LinkedIn live, right? So you can use this so that you’ve got these video content ideas, and it’s all in like a Google Sheets somewhere that you just have to look. And maybe you can have you or your assistant can go into it and put dates associated with them. And now you know, everyone’s that you go live on LinkedIn. And you’ve got all these ideas already done. Right? How cool is this? And then the last thing is repurposing. Use Chachi PT and AI to give you tips on repurposing content that you’ve already done, ask it to repurpose it to be honest. And I’m going to tell you guys this, if you’re on my email list, now, you know some of my secrets. But I sometimes grab an email that I sent out a year ago and I throw it in chat GPT and I ask it to rewrite it. Rewrite this email and I send the same email out a year later. Like I spent a lot of time writing my email. I don’t there’s no need to reinvent the wheel. Like some of the work we’ve done is really good and not all of our audience has seen it. Right. So repurpose.

As your content, use chat GPT to repurpose your LinkedIn content, repurpose articles that maybe you’ve done into content for LinkedIn or into content for other platforms. And understand that what you’re doing is you’re batching this, so that you’re showing up as the CEO. And just delivering the content on an optimized schedule, and saving yourself so much time. Alright, remember that if you want a list of these prompts, go to Karen yankovich.com/ 240, download, and you will get all of the prompts that I talked about in this episode, and in Episode 239, so that you can just print them and have them we will have we have it all blocked off for you and all the different categories. And we’ve even added a couple more in there for you as well. So you definitely wanna grab that download. And, you know, listen, remember that, please remember that this is first draft work, you must fact check this stuff, you must put it in your own voice. If you’ve got a lot of content out there. You can even say and put it like I can say when I go to chat GPT now put this in Karen Yankovich, his voice, and it knows my voice, probably because I’ve got 240 podcast episodes, and I’ve got the transcripts online for them. So it may know your voice already. It was the weirdest, wildest thing. The first time I did that, I was like, now write this in Karen Yankovich, his voice and I was like, Oh, my gosh, it sounds like I’m talking like it is exactly how I would talk. So it knows it’s creepy as that is, it may actually have your voice. So once you’ve done this, you can the last prompt you might have on all this stuff is now put this in and insert your names voice. And the more you do this, the more it gets to know you, the better it’s going to get at this. So understand, though, that as I continue to play with this, and as I continue to work out my strategy, I’m sharing this with you, I am still I’m having a lot of fun, it is saving me a lot of time, but it is also it’s I also want to recognize that it is first draft work. And I you know, I’m still I still use my writers, I still use all the people on my team, this is not replacing my job or anybody else’s job. Right. That being said, this is the world we live in. So let’s take advantage of what’s out there for us, especially because this is so stinking inexpensive, right. So if you want some help with this, I would love to talk to you go to Karen yankovich.com/call, grab a spot on our calendar, you know, or she’s linked up accelerator program has been in fact, we’re planning some really cool things for it in the next couple of months. I can’t wait for my students. If you’re in there. Now, I can’t wait for you to see this. Our goal is for there to be more wealthy women of influence in this world. I know that women that have more money, have more choices, and those choices, change the world. So I this is what I this is what I can do. This is my contribution to what I think is a crazy ass world right now. I want more women to have more money. And it starts with this program. And I mean it when I tell you, it can be the same for you. The first thing we do when I have these calls, or whoever you know, whether it’s me or somebody on my team that you talk to, we are very, it’s really important to us that we see the path to your quarter million dollar business before we even offer you a spot in the program. And either way, I want to talk to you though, because if today’s not the day for you to have a spot in the program, we’re going to tell you what you could be doing. Karen Yankovich 0:23
Hello, I’m your host, Karen Yankovich. Right. This is how we support each other. So I would love for you to do that. In the show notes. There’s also a link for SpeakPipe maybe there’s a guest you’d like to hear me interview or a topic you’d love to hear me talk about SpeakPipe is a great way to let me know just click the link in the show notes at Karen yankovich.com/ 197. And leave me a message and you know I can get back to you let you know what I think about that. So I love we love getting your messages. So if you’ve been a listener for a while, then you know there’s no end of busy work in my life. I you know, been a single mom for decades. I’ve got four kids now for grandbabies. I have a huge extended family, lots of lots of people in my life, running a fast growing business, I can procrastinate with the best of them. I am the queen of procrastination. And I can convince you of my righteousness in doing all those procrastinating things that I need to do. I am not saying that, like I’m proud of this, I’m just letting you know, I’ve been there, I get it. And I also know that if I want to spend more time with my grandbabies, if I want to spend more time doing the things outside of my business, that I have to be really intentional about doing the money generating things, so that I can pay people to do some of the things that also need to get done. But that I don’t want to necessarily be doing right, because those are tend to be the things we procrastinate on. Right. We’re gonna talk a lot about that today. Because maybe, maybe you’re wasting a lot of your time creating content, instead of building powerful LinkedIn relationships. So yes, content is necessary. It’s a necessary part of marketing. I have this is content, right? I’m giving you a podcast, this podcast is content. So but I want you to look at the content creation time that you’re spending, and decide if it is the best use of your time. Okay, I’m not saying like Instagram reels are fun, tick tock is fun, but are they helping you actually build relationships, we do a lot of busy work that doesn’t help our business have to help us build our businesses. You know, in our shooting program, of course, we help our students with their content plan, right. And, and of course, we want them creating content. But I literally like I literally say, but here’s the deal, I don’t want to see a single piece of content until you’ve done this outreach stuff until you’ve done this part. Because the outreach, the the client, getting stuff comes from the relationships, that has to happen first. Staying in the busy work is a way to avoid putting yourself out there and connecting with the people that can help you build your business. Sometimes that’s gets a little wiggy, right, it’s easy to sit on your at your desk and or sit on your laptop and go into Canva and create all kinds of fun pictures and, and graphics and things like that. That’s, you know, that’s the procrastinating stuff, right? It’s a lot harder to put yourself out there and connect with people as if you’re peers with them. Connect with people with the intention of getting on the actual phone with them. But when you’re talking with people authentically, that’s where you’re gonna see the results. That’s where you’re gonna see the money, the more money coming into your business. Russ Rufino who’s one of my mentors, his one of the things that he says is fear is a signal that you’re on the right track, it’s a signal that you’re onto something worthwhile. So if it’s feels a little wiggy to be getting on the phone with people to doing that outreach of then that might mean that that’s the things you need to be doing. Right? Because because that is that is the stuff the relationship getting stuff the getting on the phone with people, positioning yourself as if you’re peers with the most influential people in your industry and then looking to build relationships with them. Sometimes feels a little uncomfortable. Are you afraid to make the connections and build the real relationships that can get you to your goal, right if you’re like many people that I work with, your time is limited. I like most of them. women that I work with are busy, right? And I am I respect that. And I, you know, I have worked really hard to create a process that maximizes the time that they’re spending on marketing their business, because your time is limited. So you need to spend it doing the most dollar productive activity as you can. Right. And again, of course, you still need to do content. But maybe at that point, you can pay people to do that stuff, right. But one of the first things that we do so let’s just take a step back and say, one of the first things I do with people that as soon as they come into my world, is we get we create a plan where I like to, I like to call this having a big win conversation, what is a big win look like to you? The purpose of this call is to brainstorm, make her think big, make her think about our services, and what success would really look like to her, often we have to create this high ticket offer, that’s going to help them achieve their definition of success, right? If you’re shooting for a quarter million dollars, which is really where I want everybody shooting, right, if you’re shooting for a quarter million dollars in your business, then you have to have a price point that’s going to help you get there. Right. So that’s the first thing we need to do is kind of determine what that is, you’re not gonna go to Tik Tok and, and create a create a video that’s gonna have somebody just throwing $50,000 In your PayPal account, and saying, hey, I want to work with you. Right? That’s I’m not saying that that’s the only service you have, you may have services and Tiktok can help you build authority that can help you land those services. So not saying don’t do that. But understand, let’s get the money in first. And getting the money in comes from building those relationships. Right? So why do I think you should be building these relationships before you build the content? Because the quicker results come through relationship building. When you connect with people on LinkedIn, you’re connecting with a purpose, right? There’s a purpose for what you’re doing. There’s a purpose that you’re connecting, you’re not just like, I don’t want you randomly I never ever, ever going to say connect with 100 people a week ever, I only want to connect with five people a week, right? very intentionally, people that can change your business, your life and your bank account. Right? So let’s talk about what kinds of connections those people are. Right? And these are the things I want you to do half an hour a week, right? Before you do any of the other stuff before you do any of the procrastination stuff. Those connections can be people you’ve known in the past, right? Maybe somebody that you haven’t talked to in a while, and you want to just do outreach and say, Hey, let’s catch up. It’s been two years since we met at that conference, right? This This episode is coming out is April 2022. You know, we’re coming out of a couple years of not really being in person with people. So that line right there works in many, many ways, right? You can reach out to a lot of people in your network. Maybe you also want to reach out to people that are in your industry, but offer different services, collaborative opportunities, other people’s audience, people that have an audience that maybe they can put you in front of right. Most of the people that I talked to, when I when I talked to the most of the people, when I talk to them and say, Where did the vast majority of your business come from? 99 out of 100 times they tell me referrals probably 999 out of 1000 times, they say that biggest ticket business they have comes from referrals. Right? So you’ve got to be talking to more people so that you can get more referrals. And those sometimes those people can be in your industry. Maybe they’re professionals you don’t know but you’d like to meet. Maybe there are people that own groups on LinkedIn or own groups on Facebook, you don’t need to meet with the 100 people in the group you want up the group owner? Those are the people with influence that can maybe get you in front of those groups, right? These are the kinds of connections I want you to be making before you do the busy work. Okay. And then obviously, potential clients. Also think about who writes about what you do, right. Journalists? Who is, you know, is there a journalist in your state that is known for writing about what you do, or you’re building relationships with them, these are the things that can quickly get you to be landing these high ticket contracts. And again, you can still decide you want to do the Canvas stuff, or you can decide you want to pay somebody to do it. Right. So you’ve got to be doing this relationship building stuff. So that you can be having conversations with people that can lead to these high ticket conversations, these high ticket opportunities, that if you’re one of my clients, we’ve already identified on the very first call that we’ve we had, right? So at that point, then you want to have a daily routine of just logging into LinkedIn, checking your messages, checking your activity, checking your connections, activities, sharing and commenting on their content, reaching out to new connections, right? That that time, it’s better, that time is better spent doing that your time is better spent doing that, than trying to create a viral Tiktok video, do that stuff first. And when it’s done, say Alright, now I’m gonna play this afternoon, we’re gonna create a tick tock video. I recently did a podcast on creating a LinkedIn daily routine, you can check out episode 191. We’ll put the link in the show notes for you as well or just go to Karen yankovich.com/ 191. I’ll get you there. And it’s simple doesn’t take a lot of time. Just do that stuff first. Right? All I’m asking. I’m not asking you to not do the procrastination stuff. I’m asking you to do the important stuff, the big rocks if you’ve ever if you’ve ever heard that put the big rocks in first, do the big rocks first. And that’s the relationship building stuff. LinkedIn is more effective when you’re making these connections. Right Creating Masses of content And isn’t necessary, probably ever, but you know, you, you definitely want to post some content. But it’s not necessary to post at a couple times a day, every single day, seven days a week. I mean, you know, at some point, if that’s working for you, then go for it. But you better have a strong, you know, analytics that show that that’s leading exactly to the money coming into your bank account, because I’ve almost never seen that happen. Right. If you have a lower ticket item, then and you and then at that point, then you want to be building masses of content, and be building a massive audience in order to get to that quarter million dollar number. But if you don’t have a massive audience, the quickest way to get to that quarter million dollar number so that you can pay people to help you build the massive audience is relationships and high ticket opportunities. That make sense. So create some articles, create some posts that highlight your expertise, give you big, those are the things that give you a big bang for your book and establish you as the expert in your field. Do it consistently, but don’t swamp yourself with it. Right? Do the relationship building things. First. Networking on LinkedIn can take you less time and provide a bigger return than almost anything else you’re doing online. I promise you this spending time making connections targeting the right people, this is what’s going to help you further your business. Right, you want to establish yourself as an expert in your chosen field. And all of this happens on LinkedIn. Right? This this networking, this high level networking can open the door to meeting highly influential people who can help you grow your network, grow your business, and you borrow their credibility to get the higher ticket opportunities, right. And they have a network, you might also be able to tap into right other people’s audiences. So take some time, really look at what you’re doing this week. And just get the relationship building stuff done first. Because when you do that consistently, that’s when you see the money coming into your business. I’ve mentioned to you before, in our she’s linked up family we’re creating, we’re using this exact process to create wealthy women of influence. If you want to know what that looks like, you can grab an opportunity, you can grab a spot on our calendar, if you go to Karen yankovich.com/call. You get to our calendar, you can talk to somebody about what you’re doing, we’ll brainstorm a little bit about what you’re doing, to see if it’s a fit to be able to support you. We have no end of ideas. But we’d love to tell you help you understand whether or not this process can help you. And if we think we can help you, we’ll tell you what that looks like. And we’ll get back to the relationship building stuff. The bottom line is this can be simple for you. So let’s do this together. And I will see you back here again next week with another episode of The Good girls get rich podcast

Focus on quality of your posts, over quantity

You’ve seen my recommended posting schedule, so you know it’s important to post consistently. A major goal is to always stay top of mind!

Still, as a general rule of thumb of what and when to post, remember this:  Quality always beats quantity.

Customers buy from you when you provide value. Make your content interesting and don’t be afraid to have your own personality online!  Keep giving your followers something to come back for, this is what turns a follower into a customer. When you build your relationships, you build your business.

Some content ideas:

  1. Do some research and post statistics about your industry. NOTE: Be sure to keep track of the source of your statistics! Your followers will ask. Show them you’re on the ball and respond with the source.
  2. Share links to your blog posts. You’ve spent time and effort creating them, so share them over and over and over! Make sure you’ve got a sweet call to action at the end too!
  3. Post quotes. From you. Yes, you’re worthy of quoting! If you’ve done any speaking, pull some quotes. If you’ve written blog posts, pull some quotes. If you are known for a particular saying, quote it.
  4. Post quotes from others. Who do you relate to that may be inspirational to your followers? Is it business gurus like Zig Ziglar? Is it power quotes from Oprah? Maybe you’re a realtor, how about Barbara Corcoran? Curate quotes and share them.
  5. If you’ve been interviewed for a podcast, link to it. How about quoted in an article? You get the drill by now, right?
  6. Think about what’s happening in the world – locally, nationally, internationally. Find a way to tie these current events to your brand.
  7. What about seasonal posts? Is it summer? Do you have an amazing summer drink special? Is there a house you’ve got listed that has an amazing outdoor kitchen? Are you a coach that helps your clients stay booked in the slower months? Talk about that!
  8. Do you have a YouTube channel? Share the videos. See #2. Over and over and over.
  9. How about live streams? Save your Periscopes, Blabs, and Facebook Live broadcasts and share them with your followers. This is a rocket ship down the know, like and trust path.
  10. Last, but most certainly not least, build your email list. What’s your freebie? What can you give your followers to gain their trust enough to get their name and email address? Share posts to this regularly!

How often should you post on social media?

If you’ve attended any of my webinars, you may have seen this chart already.

Quick Guide to Post Frequency

No, I’m not trying to make you crazy with this stuff. I know you’re looking at Twitter and thinking to yourself “has she lost her mind?”

What I want is for you to use these social media platforms for PROFIT. I want you to use them in a way that will keep your name top of mind with your followers. To do that, you need to be consistent, you need to have a plan and work that plan.

This chart is the place to start.

I’m not saying you need to be in all of these places. What I’m saying that if you ARE going to post in a platform, use it wisely. Use it to get the most bang for your buck. Pick one or two and do it right.

Much of this can be pre-scheduled. For example, for every blog post I write, I throw three tweets for it into a queue of content that goes out to Twitter on a rotating basis. Hey, I took the time to write it, why not share it over and over ? The content is still valuable to my followers for many months or even years ahead.

3 Easy Steps to Generate Competitive Social Media Post Ideas Every Time

I talk a lot about social media and frequency of posting, in fact that IS a mainstay of my own personal business model. I still maintain 22 or more tweets per day, a few posts per day on Facebook, and multiple blogs a week (well it’s my goal that’s for sure).

As someone who is hired to do this for corporations, big business and small, I understand the pace is difficult to match. But remember I have to do all these posts, tweets and prompts for myself too!

A lot of the day to day questions I get are regarding strategy: online business social media strategy to be exact and I often address the answers in varying topics on this blog. However where is strategy if you just don’t know what to post?

Strategy is nowhere, that’s where.

You can’t start with strategy you have to start with the conversation. So in an attempt to provoke some inspiration on what to talk about when you have no idea what to talk about I thought I’d compile a few of my best “strategies” on social media writers block.

A Few of My best “Strategies” to Tackle Social Media Writer’s Block

ONE: Always always always start with what is trending that day on your chosen social media platform.trends

The day I am writing this (usually only a couple weeks ahead of when it actually posts) Twitter was trending with a really great topic: The Best Books of 2015. You can see everything that is trending that day and for how long on the lower left hand side of your Twitter home page. Anyone know why The Best Books of 2015 is such a great trend? Because there are so many different and interesting things you can say about it!

You can talk about:

  • The books you have read or want to read
  • A specific book and do a book review
  • Your opinion that a certain book should be on the list
  • Your followers opinions and take a poll (Hint: use this for future research!)
  • Quotes from some of your favorites on the list – everyone loves a good quote

And the list goes on. You can even create your own Best Books of 2015 and post that! Because everyone loves lists and your future clients want to know what you think.

Sometimes we aren’t so lucky on all platforms. Take a look at what is trending on Facebook today:

Not much positivity there, nor is there much you can focus on as a business. But hey this is where imagination comes in – have fun with it!

Why don’t you:

  • Use the trend of Yahoo’s CEO severance package post and ask your followers what they would do with $150million.
  • Ask if you should read the book or just watch the show in regards to the Game of Thrones post.
  • Mention how much you love Dancing with the Stars and who your favorite contestant was?

All of these are fun, inviting, add personality and also engage your audience while at the same time getting you more bang for the buck with each post. Every time you attach to a trending topic with a hash tag or subject you have a better chance of being found and read because more people are talking and reading about that very same thing! Make sense?

TWO: I take a look at what my competitors are doing.

What are your competitors talking and blogging about these days? What is on their mind and in their wheelhouse? Do you see a trend or a topic or two you haven’t covered yourself in awhile? Well then get to it and be inspired to write the best blog post or the most interesting Tweets this side of Tennessee!

Today while researching this post I found a random list of the top ten social media blogs of 2015 (of which I am not on…YET!) So I decided to take a look at what these top ten had to say.

What some of my competition is talking about:

  • Facebook ads, and a tutorial for them
  • Sponsored content – when, how and why to use it
  • Snapchat promotions
  • Video content creation

This encouraged me to keep talking about LinkedIn and all my strategies because it was not being talked about as much, so from there I can stand out in the crowd.

This research also showed me that maybe I could add a few new topics to my upcoming blogs such as how to create a great video to post to attracting sponsored content to using other platforms not included in the big 5 (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram).

THREE: Pay for a little help.

There are all sorts of tools out there that help you pick topics, popular posts, and viral trends to capitalize on when creating your own social media marketing and I won’t go into all of them here but sometimes all we need is a little leg up. There is so much content out there already one of the best ideas to get eyes on and likes on your page is to share posts that are the most popular already. Typically these are image driven posts, possibly with a quote or a video.

One such application is Post Planner. Membership starts at $5 or $7 a month and if you have multiple business pages on Facebook this is definitely a plus for you. They have a tool called the Viral Photo Finder that will allow you to search pages in your niche that have posted a photo that has gone viral (number of shares in relation to number of fans) you can then share that photo which may prompt the same response from your fans. Photo credit is always given automatically when you click the share button. You can even add it to your scheduler queue right from there!

Now I haven’t used Post Planner extensively nor am I an affiliate but I wanted to show you that there are options out there when you are stuck staring at a blank screen knowing you need to get something out on social media, but not sure what.
